When it comes to my fashion style, I can be pretty predictable. I'm either going to go for a dress or a skirt, those are my signatures. But just like fashion, my style is always evolving or so I try to anyway. Jumpsuits are one of those things that I thought I could never pull off and stayed away from. I loved the way they looked on people and longed to be able to look as good in one. It wasn't until last summer that I actually took the plunge and gave one a whirl. I instantly loved how I looked in it and promised I would wear more of them. Fast forward to last month when I saw my Boo Georgette of Grown and Curvy Woman wearing this amazing Floral Jumpsuit during her trip to Cuba. It was absolutely stunning and perfect for the summer season. The bold colorful print was such a statement while the comfy linen material gave it some delicacy. I loved that it had a elasticized waist with a removable belt to give the jumpsuit some shape. Of course I added my own belt to give the look a little twist of me. This is definitely one of those one-and-done pieces that will have you looking effortlessly chic all summer long.

I love when fashion trends or styles of the past make their way back around again. This year alone we've seen so many styles that brought me back to my youth like bomber jackets. shoulder pad and customized denim jackets. One trend that I've been seeing around the fashion scene as of late is patchwork jeans. This pair from Roaman's is totally giving me nostalgia and transporting me back to the 80's. I love the mixture of the light wash and white denim that are so spring like along with the semi boyfriend fit giving off a relaxed fit. You get great versatility with them as they can easily be worn dressed up or down. These are definitely a pair of stylish jeans that you need in your collection that can be worn all year round.

As I've gotten older, I noticed that my style has definitely changed. There are days where I want to be super comfortable and wear a pair of jeans with some sneakers. But then I have my days where I want to be ladylike AF lol. Actually in all honesty this happens more than I want to admit. I love getting dressed up and being as girly as possible. For me wearing pink is synonymous with being a girl and while some might think its cliche, I'm all about it. This Jacquard Drop Waist Dress from the Victoria Beckham x Target collection was the perfect sophisticated lady like dress. If you read my previous post on this collection, then you know that out of all the pieces I bought only 2 worked for me, and this was one of them. This dress was giving me all types of Jackie O vibes, the perfect combo of classic and fashion forward. The drop waist gave the dress a flirty vibe along with the front patch pocket that added such character. The fuchsia color was so bold and vibrant, making this dress such a statement. As a working woman I need clothes that can pull double duty and this is definitely a versatile piece. I can easily wear this from day to night with a quick switch of my accessories and shoes and I'm good to go.
When Life Gives You Lemons

Yesterday was Mother's Day and while I am a mother, this day isn't the same for me anymore. This will be my third Mother's Day without my beautiful Mom who was called to Heaven almost 3 years ago. You would think it would get easier but unfortunately for me is hasn't. Losing my Mom was one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal and continue to deal with everyday. So while I am super sad on Mother's Day, I continue to celebrate her memory and thank god for all the wonderful women in my life. Whether their mothers or not, I am thankful for the special role they play in my life. My mom always told me not to live in the past but to embrace what the future has to hold for us, and that's what I do now. I will always continue to miss my mother, that's never going to change, but I will celebrate the now and all the blessings that I have. My heart will remain heavy on this day but it's good to know that I have friends and family to help lighten the weight.

I live for those days where you don't have to put any effort into a look but still want to look cute. Who what of thought that I could find that type of clothing in Dress Barn? When I think of DB, I think of a place I would go to get clothes for work, but it has evolved into so much more. Their DB Sunday line is all about causal, comfy lounge wear pieces that are fashionable as well as functional. This Space-Dye Hoodie was one of my favorite pieces, incredible soft and comfortable. The space-dye print along with the soft peachy coral is so spring. The hood and kangaroo pouch pockets gave this top such an athleisure feel and the short sleeves made it easy to wear for this season. This has easily become one of my favorite tops to grab for the weekend.

By now I'm sure most of you have seen the Victoria Beckham for Target collection. When I saw a preview of the collection back in February, I fell in love with everything. I couldn't be more happier that the collection came in plus size as well. Not mention the pricing was super reasonable for this kind of collab. I was drawn to the 60's Mod style, the silhouettes, prints and bold colors that were perfect for the spring. I was one of those folks up super early to grab some of these amazing pieces. Unfortunately none of the Target stores in my area carried the plus sizes so I took a chance with sizing and ordered a bunch of dresses all in size 3X. Surprisingly, my packages arrived within 2 days which never happens when I order from Target. I immediately opened the package and was so happy with the amazing quality of the pieces. But sadly out of six dresses I ordered I only kept two, one being this gorgeous Calla Lily Satin Ruffle Hem Dress.

It's hard to believe that this past Saturday was in the upper 80's here in NYC. I could actually pull out my sandals and let me tootsies be free. Not to mention grabbing something floral from my closet that will make a statement as well. You already know my love of bold prints, bright colors and fun florals for the spring/summer seasons. Finding a fun floral is not always easy but when you do, definitely take advantage especially when you can find in one of your fav silhouettes. There are times in my blogging life where I can hit a wall and kinda lose my groove. It's hard sometimes to keep the creative juices flowing and continue to produce fresh content. A lot of things can factor into that, like your personal life, or stress from work. I also promised myself that I wouldn't let blogging become a chore or a job. I want to always look my blog as a source of happiness and make it something that I'm proud of. That's why it's ok to take a step back, give yourself a break and reboot. They took a classic and iconic piece of outerwear and made it into a masterpiece of a dress. Happy Monday all! Spring has finally made it's way over to NYC and we have been having the best weather. Easter Sunday was in the 80's! I don't know about you but this type of weather puts me in the best mood. Especially when it comes to getting dressed, all I want to wear are my fun pieces of clothing. In one of my previous post, I mentioned how the fruit trend has become very popular this season. Well besides fruits, animals and birds have been hitting the scene as well. I just love the whimsical and lively feel of this trend. and one brand that gets this is Eloquii. When I first saw this skirt on their Instagram Live during the opening party of their DC pop-up shop, I nearly died. It has stripes and colorful parrots on it, nuff said! This playful print just made me so happy not to mention catching the eye of quite of few people. Eloquii's signature studio midi never disappoints and this skirt is definitely Bae right now.

I know I am totally late to the party with the Who What Wear Collection for Target. Honestly I don't know what took me so long to actually buy something. I've loved everything they've had since they first launched last year with their spring collection. Since then they have been adding to the collection with each season and I've been loving it. Not only has the pieces been on trend, stylish and fashion forward but they made this collection size inclusive. The collection is available in plus with sizes ranging from 14W-26W which in my book is pretty amazing. Their newest stuff definitely caught my eye and I ended up buying quite a few pieces. I just really loved the Retro-Modern vibe of the collection. The simple colors, patterns and silhouette of the pieces are such a refreshing and effortless look for the spring.

Lately I've been obsessed with wearing sneakers with dresses and skirts. It actually takes me back to the 90's when dressing like a man was a trend. Growing up in Spanish Harlem, I've seen trends and fads come and go, but being able to dress like one of the guys was my favorites. Baggy jeans, rugby shirts and Timberland boots was my everyday attire. But like most things, this trend faded into the background, I got older and my style evolved. Hard to believe the woman you see today use to be into that type of style. That's why I love when old styles and trends make their way around again, it gives me back a little bit of my past while I take it make it work with my current style. One of my favorite sneakers to wear back in the 90's were a classic pair of Stan Smith Adidas. It was something about the simplicity to them and how they were still able to make a statement. Not to mention they went with literally everything. Now you can find them in damn near every color combination, like my Metallic Pink ones (see here) and of course the Classic White ones with Gold Accents that I'm wearing here.

If you saw my Plus Size Try on Haul Video that I posted last week with the new Ashley Nell Tipton x JCPenney Spring collection, then you know I went ham! I instantly fell in love with Ashley's fashions when she dropped her Fall collection back in September (see here, here, here). Her Spring collection didn't disappoint, it is everything, the perfect combo of feminine and edgy which I love. My absolute favorite piece from the collection is the amazing Floral Moto Jacket. Moto jackets are my obsession and when I saw this beauty, I nearly fainted. The pretty pastel floral print against the light cream color was just spring perfection. The stud detail on the lapel so represents Ashley's style and fashion giving me edgy realness while still remaining girly. This jacket will be on heavy rotation this season.

Now that Spring has arrived, I have started to build up my wardrobe for the season. One of my favorite things to wear during the spring are Shirt Dresses. Menswear trend is super popular right now and I'm totally digging it.. It ties in with my preppy and sophisticated style so well. Shirt Dresses are just an easy way to look polished and stylish at the same time. When Eloquii dropped this Embroidered Shirt dress, I nearly lost my mind. It has the menswear inspired pinstripes that I love, while the bright embroidery gives me the pop of color that I enjoy. This kind of dress is so versatile as well, easy to dress up with a belt to give it some shape along with a pair of sandals. Spring is officially here and even though it doesn't feel like it in NYC, I am totally in Spring mode. Us New Yorkers are so over the crazy erratic temps here and just want some consistent nice weather. For me bright colors and fun prints are what Spring is about, I love to wear them throughout the spring/summer seasons. They just make me happy and put me in a great mood for the day. A trend that is very hot right now is fruit fashion. My girl Darlene of Suits Heels and Curves did an awesome post on it yesterday. I think this the such a perfect trend for this season, having fruit on your clothes is fun and youthful way to jazz up your style. You can find the fruit trend on tops, pants and dresses, it's everywhere right now. When I saw this shirt from ASOS Curve popping up all over the internet I just had to grab it. This has to be one of the coolest shirt I own, the fun bright yellow pineapple print is so cute and girly. I've already worn this top 3 times and can't get enough of it, it's just such a comfy shirt. I've worn it with jeans and sneakers and in this picture decided to fancy it up with a skirt, the looks are endless.

As you already know I am a huge fan of anything off the shoulder, as seen here, here and here. This trend has been hanging on strong for quite a few seasons now and I am super happy about that. It's definitely one of my fav trends right now especially for the spring and summer seasons. I love how feminine and lady like this type of silhouette is by showing off the perfect amount of shoulder and adding a hint of sexy to any outfit. Since I normally tend to dress anything off the shoulder, I figured this time around I will show how you can rock this trend in a casual look. Transitioning into Spring

Right now it's very hard to think about Spring when there's like 8 feet of snow outside but I still am. Being a native New Yorker has taught me how to deal with the sporadic weather changes and how to dress for it. Spring is just a week or so away and I love to have things in my closet that can make an easy transition in that season. Jackets are the perfect add ons for any outfit, not only for warmth but to amp up an look. Trench Coats are one of my favorite outerwear for the spring, it's classic as well as being iconic but over the years has evolved into so much more. This Liason Trench from City Chic via Gwynnie Bee is such a modern twist on a classic trench. I love the military feel of the trench with the bold silver buttons. The black color makes it super sleek looking along with the flattering belted design. I was a bad blogger last week and didn't put out a post but I am back! The weather here in NYC has been crazy which has made it difficult to take blog photos. So I braved the frigid temps yesterday to get some shots taken and have some content for you this week. Even though we are about to have a huge blizzard hit us tomorrow, my mind has totally checked out and is in full spring mode. I am loving all the new spring fashions that are hitting my favorite stores and can't wait to be able to start wearing some of the things that I've bought so far. In one of my previous post, I talked about how to incorporate clothes that you would normally wear around the holidays, into your everyday looks. I really have been trying to make this a habit lately, I have so many clothes that get left in the back burner because I purchased them for a special occasion or season. So why not go digging into your closet and find that seasonal item and create a look that I could wear now. For instance, this Pleated Metallic Skirt probably would have only made an appearance during Christmas or New Years, but since I was so fond of it, I decided to create a look that would be perfect to wear for any season. I loved the liquid metal look of this skirt as well as the color which gave off a bronze/rose gold feel.

Next to the color olive, this past season gray was heavily on the fashion scene. Like I mentioned in my previous post that red was not one of my favorite colors, gray fell in that category as well. I don't know what it is but the color just reminded me of gym clothes or sweats which wasn't appealing, until I saw this midi skirt from Fashion to Figure. The gray color was such a blank canvas to create an amazing look. As you know I am a sucker for a good midi skirt, I already own two of theirs in Olive and Coral which are just amazing. The scuba material makes this warm enough to wear in the winter as well as extremely comfortable. I can't resist the flared silhouette that is so flattering as well as fun to twirl in.
Valentine's Day Red

When it comes to Valentine's Day, the color red is highly associated with this day. Everyone want to wear this color for the day of Love. I am a girl who loves to incorporate color into her everyday looks but unfortunately red wasn't always one of the colors I gravitated too. It took me a long while to warm up to wearing it, I started out with pops of it in my accessories, like shoes or bags. Then I slowly moved into actually wearing red in my clothing. Now I take on the color red like a champ without a problem. I never realized how powerful this color was and how it made me feel when I wore it. Wearing this Shirt Dress was definitely one of those moments, it immediately commanded attention. I loved that it had black pinstripes for a menswear feel as well as adding some contrast to the bold color. With it's classic and sophisticated look, this dress can be worn for work or for Valentine's Day with your special someone.

When I think of a jumper, they immediately take me back to my childhood. My mom use to dress me in all different styles and colors of jumpers. Now that I am a grown woman, I am definitely not looking at them in the same way. Now they are more of a fashion statement or fun trend that I like to indulge in once in a while. This Denim Jumper from City Chic via Gwynnie Bee was right up my alley being how obsessed I am with denim dresses. The fact that this one was a jumper style made it ever more appealing. Lane Bryant has a new girl in town and her name is Allie. It's their new universal fit pant which means that women of any size or body shape will look good in these pants. With their fit revolution technology and advanced waistband construction making these one of the most comfiest pants. They are made of a stretchy material that hugs the body from waist to knee and flares out at the hem. Offering sizes from 16-28 in short, regular and tall is such a great thing that LB decided to do, making this pant available to almost everyone. While a Boot Cut is not my normal style of pants, I prefer a more skinny fit, I could easily see myself wearing these for work, dressed up or down, there's a lot you can do with this pant.

Welcome back to another edition of the Plus Size Remix, the first for 2017. As I stated in my round up post, I will be definitely trying to get one of these out every month. If this is your first time to the blog, PSR is a monthly feature where I take a look that inspires me and remix it into a plus size version. This month's inspiration came from someone that I have been following for a while and totally admire, Carelia of My Small Wardrobe. I just adore her style, she loves mixing vintage garments with contemporary and classic pieces. Her looks are eccentric, funky and fun, plus I love what she stands for. Her goal is to encourage women regardless of size, age or body type to #DressFun. Not to mention she's a fellow Latina and is representing the fabulous 40 and over club. Yassss!
Weekend Wear: Polka Dots and Denim

For me weekends are for cool and comfy looks that you don't have to put a lot of thought into. I know I definitely don't want to waste my day putting together an outfit when I could be enjoying brunch with my Beau. Now that the temps have dropped, my go to are jeans, they are easy to wear and provide warmth during the winter months. Even better when you can find a pair that have detailing of some kind to give them some pizazz. These Distressed Pearl Jeans from Roaman's are super cute and different with actual faux pearl detailing on the upper part of the jean. While the light wash and distressed design adds some edginess to them. Comfortable enough to wear to run errands and stylish enough to wear for brunch with your best girls, you can't beat that!
Snow Fall

For 2017 I have set a few goals for the blog that I want to reach. I love to do this so that I am constantly pushing myself to do better and have something to focus on. Now while I take my blog very seriously and consider it a second job, I don't want it to become something that I hate to do. That's why it's important to have those days where you just have fun with the blog. This past weekend we had like our first real snow fall and I took the opportunity to get outside with my boyfriend and take some fun photos. Despite it being frigid outside and people thought we were crazy, it a lot of fun.
The Party Goes On

It's so crazy how fast the holidays come and go, I swear it was only yesterday we were celebrating Thanksgiving. Now the holiday blues start to set in, decorations start to come down and you miss all the fun that come with the holidays. Like spending time with family, good food, great parties and getting dressed up. For me getting dressed up for the holidays is my favorite part, aside from getting gifts of course lol! I know there are a few of you out there that didn't get a chance to wear that killer outfit. Well for me, the party doesn't stop just because the fun of holiday season is over. Keep the fun going and wear that outfit somewhere else, maybe date night with your boo, brunch with your girls, or for a night out on the town. There's never not a reason to get dressed up, in my book!
