After a long week of work, there's nothing better than enjoying my weekends. The weekends are usually spent with my Beau and of course with my Instagram Wives taking blog phots and doing brunch. Last year I had the pleasure of moving into my fellow IG wife's Darlene house, I am her downstairs tenant. One of the best things about moving into her house besides being closer to my blogger boos, was the fact that she had a dog. My baby Skittles unfortunately passed away almost 2 years ago and little Anakin has definitely filled that void of having a beloved pet. He's one of the sweetest, cutest and funniest dogs I ever met and I love him. It's amazing what the love of a dog can do and make you feel, seeing his little face just makes me smile every time. Some weekends I just want to throw on something cozy and just chill with him. It's always fun and he just loves being outside, running around, enjoying the day and barking at squirrels. He's just a hoot!
When you're running around with a pooch, you want to be as comfy as possible. Plus since the temps here in NYC are so bipolar right now, dressing in layers is the way to go. Now If I am dressing down, I still like to remain cute and stylish. I mean, you never know who you might run into on these streets so it's important to look your best. This Cowl Neck Poncho Sweater from Melissa McCarthy Seven7 line is the perfect top for that. I love the drape of the cowl neck and beautiful light mauve color. The kangaroo pockets add a sporty touch to the sweater, great to keep my hands warm, store my phone or keep some treats for Anakin. The side button closure gives some structure to this swingy silhouette and the super soft fabric just makes this ones of the coziest sweaters I own. It's warm enough to wear by itself but not bulky which makes it great to layer with a jacket. I have definitely found my new favorite sweater
Sizing tip: The Melissa McCarthy line is very generous, I am wearing a 1X in the top. Keep that in mind when purchasing.
What do you wear on the weekends?
