Handkerchief Skirt

Handkerchief Skirt

Hi Lovies,

I've mentioned before that in the past I was not the biggest fan of plaid. But within the last 2 years or so, I have grown to enjoy it, especially for this time of the year. There's just something about it that represents the winter. I'm sure most people think of lumberjacks whenever plaid is concern but it has definitely come a long way in the fashion world. It can be found just about everywhere in the most fashionable styles and colors combos. Take this amazing plaid Fringe Hem Handkerchief Skirt by Melissa McCarthy Seven7 line for instance. After wearing their Mauve Poncho top in one of my previous posts, I knew I had to have more from her line. The rainbow tartan plaid pair with the raw edges of the handkerchief hem makes this skirt so unique and different. The fabric drapes so well flattering the figure as well as keeping me warm. Easily paired with some strappy heels, peep toe booties or tall riding boots like I'm wearing, for plenty of chic worthy looks. This skirt is such a conversation piece and will definitely catch the eyes of many.

Next to my obsession with moto jackets, I realize that I am also obsessed with capesA cape, whether it’s worn as a coat or a blazer, gives a touch of elegance to any outfit you have on. They are pretty unique, and wearing one can feel a little bit like dressing up sometimes – but in a good way. Obviously a black cape is totally quintessential and classic, so that's why I gravitated to this Double Breasted Cape from Ellos. Ellos is a fairly new plus size brand from Sweden that designs fashion that is modern, effortless, and works for every aspect of your life. I attended their Fall/Winter preview a few months ago and was truly impressed with everything I saw. They are more of a affordable contemporary line with sizes ranging from 10-34. They have everything from causal pieces, basics, work wear and day to night looks. I couldn't be more happier with this cape, I loved the double breasted design which is very different than my other capes. The gunmetal hardware gives it such a elegant touch with a military feel. It's a great laying piece and is super versatile. Dress it up like I did here with my keyhole top and skirt or down with a turtleneck and jeans. It's an awesome addition to anyone's wardrobe.
