Mother's Day

Mother's Day

Hi Lovies,

Most of my friends and family know that I lost my mother last July to Lupus. It was a long and hard struggle for my Mom due to the fact that the Lupus affected her lungs. She was so strong and such a fighter to the very end. This Mother's Day was the first without her and it was a tough one. But I'm very lucky to have such great family and friends that help eased the pain with their kind and thoughtful words. So instead of spending the day at home sad, I decided to get dressed up in some her favorite colors and spend it with my family. My sister had a nice BBQ at her place and it was just what I needed. We ate, shared stories of our mother and just surrounded each other with love. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Where to begin on how much I LOVE this skirt from Eloquii, it has totally given me life! The print on this was just so perfect in every way, the combination of colors just meshed so well. I mean c'mon, doesn't it make you happy just looking at it??? I also loved the fact that it was made of scuba material, which I know a lot of folks don't care for. I on the other hand love anything in scuba material, it's super forgiving and just feels good on the body. A word to the wise, this dress will get dirty by just looking at it so I wouldn't suggest going to a BBQ in it like I did lol!

When deciding on the top I wanted to go with this skirt, it was a no brainer I wanted it to be pink. Pink makes everything better, end of story! So this casual and comfortable striped v-neck tee from Old Navy was exactly what I was looking for.

Don't you just love the necklace I'm wearing?? Well it's from an awesome monthly unlimited jewelry subscription service called Rocksbox. Here's how it works:

  • For $19 a month (Get your first month free if you use my code lapecosapreciosaxoxo !), you get sent three items of jewelry. Prior to them sending you items, you’ll fill out a style survey so they know what you like.
  • You then are able to wear the jewelry for as long as you want (that’s right!) before buying it at 20% off of retail price or sending it back. The envelope they send you the items in is reusable and they include postage for sending back items so you don’t have any cost to cover for shipping.
  • When you send it back (or purchase it), they’ll send you three more items to wear! Make sure to give your stylist feedback so they get a feel for what you like.
  • Lather, rinse, repeat! You can do it as often as you want. No obligation to remain a member for any length of time. But they do discount membership if you commit to 6 or 12 months.
