Plus Size Remix: My Small Wardrobe

Hi Lovies,

Welcome back to another edition of the Plus Size Remix, the first for 2017. As I stated in my round up post, I will be definitely trying to get one of these out every month. If this is your first time to the blog, PSR is a monthly feature where I take a look that inspires me and remix it into a plus size version. If you missed any of my previous PSR, head over my Pinterest board to catch up. This month's inspiration came from someone that I have been following for a while and totally admire, Carelia of My Small Wardrobe. I just adore her style, she loves mixing vintage garments with contemporary and classic pieces. Her looks are eccentric, funky and fun, plus I love what she stands for. Her goal is to encourage women regardless of size, age or body type to #DressFun. Not to mention she's a fellow Latina and is representing the fabulous 40 and over club. Yassss!

Weekend Wear: Polka Dots and Denim

Hi Lovies,

For me weekends are for cool and comfy looks that you don't have to put a lot of thought into. I know I definitely don't want to waste my day putting together an outfit when I could be enjoying brunch with my Beau. Now that the temps have dropped, my go to are jeans, they are easy to wear and provide warmth during the winter months. Even better when you can find a pair that have detailing of some kind to give them some pizazz. These Distressed Pearl Jeans from Roaman's are super cute and different with actual faux pearl detailing on the upper part of the jean. While the light wash and distressed design adds some edginess to them. Comfortable enough to wear to run errands and stylish enough to wear for brunch with your best girls, you can't beat that!

Snow Fall

Hi Lovies,

For 2017 I have set a few goals for the blog that I want to reach. I love to do this so that I am constantly pushing myself to do better and have something to focus on. Now while I take my blog very seriously and consider it a second job, I don't want it to become something that I hate to do. That's why it's important to have those days where you just have fun with the blog. This past weekend we had like our first real snow fall and I took the opportunity to get outside with my boyfriend and take some fun photos. Despite it being frigid outside and people thought we were crazy, it a lot of fun.

The Party Goes On

Hi Lovies,

It's so crazy how fast the holidays come and go, I swear it was only yesterday we were celebrating Thanksgiving. Now the holiday blues start to set in, decorations start to come down and you miss all the fun that come with the holidays. Like spending time with family, good food, great parties and getting dressed up. For me getting dressed up for the holidays is my favorite part, aside from getting gifts of course lol! I know there are a few of you out there that didn't get a chance to wear that killer outfit. Well for me, the party doesn't stop just because the fun of holiday season is over. Keep the fun going and wear that outfit somewhere else, maybe date night with your boo, brunch with your girls, or for a night out on the town. There's never not a reason to get dressed up, in my book!

A Year at a Glance

Hi Lovies,

It seems like every new year goes by in a blink of an eye, and we are now entering 2017. One of the great things about blogging is that it chronicles your life so to speak. While I can't always rely on my memory to remember everything that has happened throughout the year, I can come to the blog to look back on all I've achieved. I can honestly say that 2016 was very good to my blog and because of all my great accomplishments, it allowed me to grow as a brand and as a person. I no longer look at blogging as a hobby but as a job that I actually enjoy going to. It's so rewarding when I get messages or emails from my readers telling me how much of an inspiration I am to them. They are the ones that motivate me to keep this freight train rolling because the last thing I want to do is let my reader down. So today, I will look back at all I've accomplished this year and continue to feel blessed by every moment!

Glitz and Glam

Hi Lovies,

The other day I showed you a simple by edgy look for NYE, today I am going all out glitz and glam! Of course there is sequins involved, because honestly, there's never enough sequins. Especially for New Year's Eve, you must have some kind of sequins to your look and this Ruffle Sequin Dress from Simply Be was everything! It is giving me all types of sparkle, shine and glam that I crave for bringing in the New Year and that fact that it was in black made it so elegant looking. The sexy top mesh paneling, fun flattering ruffle and on trend two tone sequins made this a show stopping piece. I wanted to show some leg (as usual! lol!) for this look but if this is too short for your comfort, slap on a pair of black tights and you're good to go!

2016 Plus Size Remixes

Hi Lovies!

When I started the Plus Size Remix feature on the blog back in July of 2015, I had no idea what a hit it would be. You guys showed so much love for my inspirational recreations and loved the idea that Plus Size Women can dress just like the straight size women. I had so much fun putting these looks together and also sharing with you some of my fav bloggers and why I chose them to recreate. As with life, things can be unpredictable and crazy so I didn't get to do a PSR each month like I wanted but I promise for 2017 to bring it! Here are all my Plus Size Remixes for 2016, enjoy!

Sequins and Leather

Hi Lovies,

New Year's Eve is only 3 days away, and I have gone into sparkle, shine, glitter, and shimmer overload. This is the time of year where you can get away with all that stuff. Now not everyone is the super dressed up type for NYE, so today I am bringing you a look that is simple but still has that added sparkle that a NYE look should have. To me, sequins is definitely a must and this Sequined Illusion Tunic from Roaman's gives me all of that. I love the variations of colors in the sequins from bronze to gold and champagne. The mesh neckline and sleeves give it a sexy edge while the tunic silhouette flatters the figure. You will definitely be making a statement entering the new year with this sparkly number.

End of Season Sales

Hi Lovies,

Now that Christmas is officially over, here come the infamous end of season sales. People wait patiently for these sales so that they can rack up on all the great deals as well as stock up for next year. Of course I am one of those people, waking up early to check my emails to see what kind of deals my favorite brands are offering. So I decided to compile a list of my favorites stores and share their deals with you, Happy Shopping!

Christmas Glam

Hi Lovies,

For some Christmas Day is a super special day, they pull out all the stops and get dressed to the nines. While I can't say that is the type of Christmas I have, I do love the idea of doing a mega glam holiday look. As we know the color red is one of the favorite colors to wear during the holidays. It's bright, vibrant and it makes a statement. Even for me, who isn't the biggest fan of red, likes to wear it a few times during this time of the year. So a red dress was definitely in order for a glam look and this Kimono Knot Front Dress from Simply Be was a show stopper. The minute I put this dress on, I felt like the belle of the ball. This sensual dress just falls on the body like a dream, the slinky fabric is soft and comfy. The front slit along with the flattering knot detail and kimono style neckline make this such an elegant dress. Is it safe to say that you'll be turning heads all night in this dress? I think so!
