Casual Friday: White Denim

Hi Lovies,

The color white and me aren't the best of friends. As much as I love the color, it's always a challenge for me to wear. I tend to be a magnet for food dropping on me whenever I eat, so white isn't the best color for me to wear. But when I am having one of my brave days and derive a contingency plan for possible spills, I love to rock a pair of white jeans. It definitely makes me feel as if summer has finally arrived. The crispness of the color and the fact that it practically goes with anything is a pure joy. You know I am a sucker for a skinny jean and these Women Within Smooth Waist Jeans from Fullbeauty were such a hit. They are amazingly comfortable due to the pull on design and 3 inch waistband that smooths out your tummy. The give the illusion of a regular pair of jeans but in the form of a jegging. The length was great, since I'm on the taller side, they fit me like an ankle pant which are great for the summer. These are an awesome pant and will be trying out some of  the other washes.

Melissa McCarthy Seven7

Hi Lovies,

It's always great seeing new full size brands popping up on the scene, especially ones that are created by awesome celebrities like Melissa McCarthy. The fact that she is a plus size woman, she understands our aesthetic and what we are looking for in fashion. Melissa believes that we shouldn't have to sacrifice style just because we are above a size 12 and designed Melissa McCarthy Seven7 line to give women a whole new love for shopping. There is definitely something for everyone, work wear, casual and dressy pieces. She isn't afraid to use bold prints and colors, and you see this in her tops, bottoms and dresses. Amazing silhouettes, fabrics and top notch quality can be seen throughout this high end line. Collections like this gives the plus size fashion world hope that people and designers are finally getting it.

The Mini Skirt

Hi Lovies,

For some women, the idea of wearing a mini skirt can be a daunting one. Adding to the many "so called" plus size fashion rules, mini skirt are a no-no. But as you know, rules are made to be broken and we will not tolerate anyone telling us what they think plus size woman should be wearing. So me being the rebel that I am, I decided to prove the nay-sayers wrong and rock this awesome Zip Front Denim Mini Skirt from Simply Be. The zip detailing and large front pockets make this such a fashionable take on the mini skirt. I am also a fan of the dark wash denim which goes well with so many different colors. I love that the denim isn't super heavy so I can wear this on those warmer days and not be too hot. If you're the type who likes to show off your legs, then this is the perfect skirt for you! Oh hello gams!! LOL!

Summer Time

Hi Lovies,

Nothing say summer time quite like a floral print and with temps going up to almost 80 today, it's sure going to feel like it. Florals are another one of my favorite type of prints, next to stripes and polka dots. The floral trend still continues from previous years with printed pants, mini-dresses, skirts, and everything else retailers can put a flower on. Florals are all about having fun with fashion and embracing the joy and romance of summer. I am definitely embracing my inner lady with this Floral Cut Out Swing Dress from Torrid. It's a charming and dainty dress, while still giving some sexiness with the sweetheart neckline. The fit and flare design looks great on most body shapes and gives the dress such a retro feel. The floral print was so fresh and fun with the pinks and hints of green in it. Get ready to be the belle of the ball with this dress.

Pink Lady

Hi Lovies,

I know saying that most women love the color pink is kinda cliche, but this woman right here really does. The color pink just signifies girlishness and feminism, it's also very nostalgic as it always reminds me of my childhood. I adore pink in any shade I can get my hands on, and this Trapeze Shirt Dress was definitely on my hit list. This dress has my two favorite things, the color pink and it's a shirt dress. You already know that I love this silhouette, and this one is great for the summer because it's sleeveless as well as being made of a lightweight fabric. It's so versatile, I can wear this to work with no problem as well on the weekends. Not to mention the awesome hi-low hem and working pockets that makes this shirt dress so different from any other that I own.

Make Up Conversation

Hi Lovies,

If you know me, then you know I can tend to become obsessed with things very easily. Obviously fashion is one of them but my newest obsession is make-up. Within a year I have accumulated a huge collection of make-up and it still continues to grow. I just love everything about it, the concept, the application process and most of all the end product. Just like my beloved fashion, make-up has no rules and I'm all about that. Don't let people tell you that "You have too much make-up!", or "Why do you wear make-up, you don't need it." If it makes you feel good and you enjoy it, then give them a "bye Felicia" and carry on. So when there's a way to combine both of my loves, make-up and fashion, I'm going to be all over it. This Make Up Conversation Print Tee from Lane Bryant was totally meant for me, I loved the little foiled embellished lipsticks and mascaras on it. Such a fun, and girly tee that most women can relate too.

Shark Bite

Hi Lovies,

Every year fashion graces with so many new trends, designs, and silhouettes. It's always a pleasure to see what exciting new things the world of fashion has in store. One trend that I am seeing a lot is the shark bite hem. This type of hem can be the difference between the ordinary and the exciting. With an inverted deep scoop design that resembles the impression left after a shark has taken a bite out of some food source, the outline of the scoops are somewhat ragged in appearance, as well as having the rather dramatic plunge effectYou are seeing this design in an array of skirts, dresses and even tops. I fell in love with this Graphic Print Sharkbite Dress from Fullbeauty, the bright colors and print is so different. The flowy fabric has so much movement and the tie belt made the dress very flattering. This is such a versatile dress and can be worn for work with a blazer like I did here or by itself with a pair of heels. I love statement pieces and this one is definitely one of them.

Christian Siriano x Lane Bryant

Hi lovies,

This past Monday I had the pleasure of attending the Christian Siriano for Lane Bryant runway show at the United Nations. OMG, I am still reeling from the experience, it was just an amazing day. The runway show was on the open patio and the day couldn't have been more perfect for it. The space was all a buzz with so many people from bloggers, influencers, media and celebrities. To say I was beyond giddy was an understatement. As we waited for the show to start, everyone mingled, took pictures and just hung out. Finally we took out seats and the show began, it was just breath taking. I loved that it was no only models who adorned the cat walk but bloggers as well. People were engulfed in the beauty of every pieces that strutted down the runway. At the end Danielle Brooke walked down the runway like a yellow bird, she was a total vision.

May Flowers

Hi Lovies,

This weekend I went up to Albany to visit my dad and family for Mother's Day. I lost my Mom 2 yrs ago so naturally this day is hard for me. But I decided that it was best to celebrate my Mother's memory and be surrounded by the people I love. My mom loved flowers and without knowing, up in Albany this weekend was their annual Tulip festival. It's like the unofficial start to the summer and their version of Central Park is adorned with all types of beautiful tulips, events, music and vendors. So I couldn't be more happier to have picked this weekend to go visit. This Floral Print Shift Dress was perfect for the occasion and definitely went with the theme of the day, which was flowers. I loved the lightweight flowy fabric along with the beautiful floral print that made this such a charming dress. The deep v-neck gave it just the right amount of sexy while still remaining appropriate for work or play. Super comfortable and easy going, which is something I enjoy in clothing.

Orange Cream

Hi Lovies,

Sometimes the most simplest of pieces can be the turn into something cool and fun. I'm a sucker for t-shirt type dresses, especially for the summer. They are a quick and easy thing to just grab and go. Can easily be dressed up with some fancy accessories for work, or dressed down with a pair of slip on sneakers. It's even better when you can find one that has cool fabrics and materials like this Lace Trim Dress from Fullbeauty. I fell in love with the pretty lace trim along the shoulders and flattering A-line design. The delicate pastel orange was so pretty and all in the most comfortable, beautifully draping jersey knit fabric imaginable. The dress come with a matching self tie belt but to jazz it up I added this gold belt. I'll definitely be reaching for this dress a lot this summer.

Easy Breezy

Hi Lovies,

Easy breezy looks have been my go to lately. On the weekends I don't want to put too much thought into an outfit but I still want to look put together. This usually means there's some kind of denim involved. This Button Front Skirt from Simply Be was perfect for my Saturday afternoon with my babe. Beautifully soft and flowy, this skirt is just perfect for the warmer days as well as comfortable with the elastic back and light weight fabric. I love the button front design and flattering silhouette that sets it aside from the every day denim skirt.  You can do so much with this skirt, definitely a versatile piece to have in your wardrobe this for the upcoming summer season.

Wives of Instagram

Hi Lovies,

My Sundays are definitely not what you call a the typical one. While most people like to relax and kick back on this day, mine is dedicated to all things blogging. With a three post a week schedule, I have to keep on my toes and make sure I get things done. It's also great when you have a great support group of like minded people who keep you motivated and work just as hard. This is where my "Wives of Instagram" come into play. I always say that one of the most rewarding things about blogging was meeting all these fabulous and empowering women. Some that have become my "sister/friends" and couldn't picture my life without them. Darlene, Jamie and I have formed this amazing friendship, we all take our blogging serious and help each other in any way possible. Since we all have full time jobs, its super hard to see each other and actually spend time together. So we make it a point to meet up every Sunday, take each others blog photos and hang out. We have such a fun time doing this and it just brings our friendship closer and closer. To see this video, scroll down to the bottom of this post.

Ouidad "Perfect Partners" Duo Review & Giveaway

Hi Lovies,

I am always on the hunt for the next best products for curly hair, it's an ongoing process with me. Not to mention when I see something new, I have to try it. So when Ouidad reached out to me to try their new products for Kinky Curls, I jumped at the chance. The Perfect Partner Duo, which consist of the Ultra-Nourishing Cleansing Oil and Whipped Curls Daily Conditioner & Styling Primer. Ouidad are basically the "curl experts" and I've been a fan of them for some time now. I use their "rack and shake" method from time to time and love how my curls come out. The two products were very intriguing to me because I have never use anything like them on my curls. I have to say I am pleasantly pleased with the results. Now let's get into this review!

Minty

Hi Lovies,

There are days that I love to dress up super feminine, which usually includes a dress or skirt. Add pastel colors to that and you have the ultimate girly look. Mint is a color that I don't have much of in my wardrobe but I do love it. Definitely a color that defines spring to me, so when I saw this Sweeping Skirt from Fullbeauty, I instantly added it to my cart. The A-line design creates a flattering, full silhouette and the dramatic sweep of the skirt gives a beautiful look along with the pretty mint color. The elastic band makes for a comfortable fit, add a belt to it to define your waistline. For sure a must have in your wardrobe as it's so versatile and goes with so much.

Chambray

Hi Lovies,

Old Navy always comes through in the clutch for me when I'm looking for inexpensive clothing for the spring/summer. They have definitely stepped up their game over the last few years and have been bringing their A game when it comes to great styles and fashion. What I also love about ON is that their clothing is very generous, I can actually shop in their straight size section with no problem because their sizing goes from XS- XXL. Which gives me more options and if I want I can flip-flop between their straight sizes and plus sizes for more variety. According to their size chart the XXL is the equivalent to a size 20, which I find to be very roomy. This Embroidered-Yoke Chambray Dress is a perfect example of that. I have quite a few denim dresses, they are just the best because it's like having a blank canvas to create greatness, it just goes with so much. This one is super chic with it's cocoon design and gorgeous embroidered yoke. Light weight, roomy and so comfy, a definite kicking around on the weekend type of dress. Denim is like jello, there's always room for more, in any shape or form.

Dress Season

Hi Lovies,

Now that the weather here is starting to actually feel like spring, I can begin to wear more dresses. You all know I love my dresses, especially the simple, no nonsense ones. During the warmer weather I don't want to have to think too much about what I am going to wear. So dresses make it very easy for me, its a one and done kinda deal. While checking out the Fullbeauty site, I came across this adorable Shirt Dress by Ellos. In my previous post, I spoke about this brand, it's definitely become one of my favs on the Fullbeauty.com website for it's fashion forward pieces. This dress was super confortable, with a casual style that can be worn almost anywhere, this woven cotton dress delights on any occasion. I love the pastel blue and white stripes along with the tie belt design which emphasized the waistline. Such a fun and flirty dress, oh and did I mention it has pockets?? Total A+ in my books.

Dot to Dot

Hi Lovies!

Lately I have been kinda obsessed with polka dots and have found myself buying quite a few articles of clothing in it. It's fun, girly and such a great print to pattern mix with. One item I didn't have in polka dot print was a trench coat. I have been on the hunt for one for ages and I finally found one thanks to Fullbeauty.com. This Jessica London trench is amazing, super structured and fitted which flattered my figure. It definitely wasn't your traditional looking trench, the black and white dots were so charming but classic. It's very versatile, you could dress it up, as I did here, or on the weekends with jeans and sneakers. It's also thin enough to wear during the warmer months and could easily be worn with a sweater underneath for the colder months. It's just an all around great trench.

Green Day

Hi Lovies,

There are certain dresses in your wardrobe that just make you feel like you can take on the world. The ones that make you feel super fabulous, confident and say "I'm here!". That one dress that makes you stop and take a quick twirl just for the fun of it. Well this Sunray Pleated Dip-Hem Dress from Simply Be was one of them. Fashioned in an on trend green hue, this dress is definitely a showstopper with such a pop of color. I loved the way this dress fit on me, extremely flattering with beautiful pleating along with the hanky hem design. It also has such versatility, easily dressed up, as I did here, as well as being able to go casual with a cute pair of flat sandals. This dress did come with a matching tie belt but I switched it for this one to add my flare to the look. Just call me "Garden Party" ready! lol!

Can't Get Enough

Hi Lovies,

Chartreuse has become one of my favorite colors for the spring season, its fun, vibrant and makes a statement. The combinations of  colors that you can pair with it are limitless as well. So obviously when I saw this skirt from Ashley Stewart, I instantly bought it. I love my skirts and this one was chartreuse perfection. Neoprene is such a trendy fabric and it gave the skirt super volume, which I loved. The box pleating gives it such a contemporary feel, making it look more high end. It hit me at the knee which is my ideal length for skirts since I like showing a bit more legs. This skirt does have ample stretch so makes sure to get your exact size.

April Showers

Hi Lovies,

Last weekend was not one of the greatest, especially for the start of April. It was super cold, rainy and just down right depressing. As much as I was disappointed with the weather, that did not stop me from dressing for the season. I was not going to let this weather get me down, and decided to wear a casual but totally colorful and springy look. I've talked about how great Fullbeauty.com is for one stop shopping. They have everything you need to create a look all in one spot. While scrolling through the site I came across these Floral Print Joggers, and fell in love. They were such a cheery and fun print, definitely different than any other joggers I own. Not to mention how comfortable these were, felt like I was in pajama bottoms. These are for sure a great addition to my growing spring wardrobe.

My Namesake

Hi Lovies,

A few months ago me and my blogger boo Darlene of Suits, Heels & Curves had the privilege of shooting with one of our favorite brands Modamix. This was actually our second time shooting with them, last year we were a part of their Resort Collection shoot, which was so much fun. This time was extra special because we both had dresses from this collection named after us! As you know, the Modamix team is like family to us and they continue to support us, ours blogs and the content we are bringing to our readers. I love everything they stand for and they continue to amaze me with great designs and high end quality in each collection. So for them to actually name a piece after us is truly an honor and a dream come true.

Damn Sandra!

Hi Lovies,

Damn Sandra! Back at it again with the stripe skirt! LOL! Yes my friends, I am back with another striped skirt but not any striped skirt, this gorgeous Multi-Stripe Pleated Skirt from Eloquii. You all know my love for Eloquii and pretty much everything they make. I won't even tell you how many pieces I own from them, especially skirts. I went head over heels when I saw this one, not only because it had stripes but because of all the beautiful rainbow of colors and it was made of scuba material. This was such a cheery and playful print, that so made me think of the warmer days to come. It may not seem like it right now in NYC since we actually had snow flurries this morning but we know better days will be here soon enough.

Kisses

Hi Lovies,

It's very rare that you come across a brand that caters to both straight and plus sizes as well as making their selection available to all sizes. Eshakti is one of those brands and I love them for it. I've been shopping with them for a few years now but it wasn't until recently that I was approached by the brand to do a post, share my thoughts and opinions on one of their pieces. If you're new to Eshakti, it's a company that offers clothing from sizes 0-36, they even offer customization; you can change different elements about the clothing like the length, neckline, sleeves etc or you can provide your exact measurements for a truly custom fit. Their philosophy is "It is not enough that clothes look good on the mannequin. They need to look good on you." And I totally agree. This is what sets Eshakti apart from other brands and makes them unique. There's no guess work, or worry that something you purchased online isn't going to fit you properly. The clothing was literally made for you!

Floral Romance

Hi Lovies!

Now that it is officially spring, even though it doesn't feel like it here in NYC, I can start wrapping my head around clothes for that season. Floral prints are always a staple for me pretty much a year round but more so for the spring and summer. They just go with the season, with all the pretty flowers blooming around. Now I'll take floral print in any shape or form, whether it be a dress, jacket and in this case a midi skirt. This skirt from Fashion to Figure was so feminine with the beautiful rose print and pastel colors. It's such a charming and elegant piece, totally made me feel like I should be at a garden party somewhere.

The Perfect Moto

Hi Lovies,

The love I have for moto jackets runs deep, like really deep! If you been following the blog, you know I have moto jackets galore, it's become a joke among my friends. Different colors, fabrics, styles, you name it, I've got it. But honestly to me, motos are like your undies, you can never have too many. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw this one from Modamix. With a heartbeat skipping moment, it was love at first sight, it has stripes people, STRIPES! This jacket was definitely something I didn't have in my collection and instantly became (cue Golem's voice) "my precious!". I'm literally looking for any excuse to wear this, either to work, on the weekends, with my PJ's, it's an obsession. The Jaime Jacket is made extremely well and actually looks and feel like real leather. The white and black stripes makes this a classic, never going out of style and can be wore for several seasons. Everyone needs this jacket in their wardrobe, and it's only $31 right now!

Neon Lights

Hi Lovies!

I love incorporating bold prints and colors in my looks especially for the warmer months. It just livens up the simplest of outfits and all around just makes me happy. You guys know how much I love stripes in any shape or form. To me it makes a statement, that I am not afraid to rock stripes even if I am plus size. Shirt dresses are definitely a staple in my closet and I have quite a few. This one from Eloquii was an instant favorite of mine. It was striped and made of neoprene, what more could I ask for? Not to mention how classic and versatile it is, so many possibilities with this dress.
