Quarantine Memorial Day Fun

Quarantine Memorial Day Fun

Thank you to Catherines for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hi Lovies!

It's hard to believe that Memorial Day is tomorrow. With everything that is going on with Covid-19 the days have no meaning and just mesh into each other. But as you know I've been talking a lot about how to get some normalcy back in to my life. If you read my previous post, I talked about my quarantine self care day that I take once a week for myself to kinda decompress from the craziness.  Today I am going to be talking about the importance of celebrating special occasions and holidays.

Now I know most of the US is on some kind of lockdown but that doesn't mean you can't still celebrate certain days. Whether it's a birthday, graduation or a holiday like Memorial Day should definitely be celebrated. You can get your best friends or family and have a Zoom Party or House Party Virtual Celebration as well. I decided that it would be fun to celebrate Memorial Day and have a simple little backyard BBQ. I know that not everyone has the luxury of a backyard but even if you live in an apartment you can still celebrate in some form.

If you live in an apartment, you can totally get the effect of grilling with a grill pan for that bbq feel. Get yourself some hot dogs and burgers and cook them on the grill top! If you're lucky enough to have a terrace, use that space to set up the party. Let's not forget getting decorations to set the mood. There's no need to break the bank on this, when you can find super cute and inexpensive decorations at your local Family Dollar, Five Below, or Dollar Tree. I picked up a bunch of Americana inspired decor to create a fun and festive set up in the backyard and I spent less than $25.

And lastly let's not forget to dress the part as well! If you're going to celebrate something you want to go the extra mile. Thank goodness for Catherines Americana Collection, I was able to get some really cute, casual and comfy Memorial Day inspired pieces for my celebration. The Starry Anchor Tee and Star Motif Jean Shorts was the perfect combo! I loved how the stars in the anchor worked well with the stars on the shorts. Not only was the look cute but  it was also uber comfy as well. I even took it a step further and accessorized with their Shining Star Earrings and Good Soles Slip on Sneakers to complete the look. I was totally ready to have a good ol' time at my Memorial Day BBQ.

I know that not everyone is at a place where they are ready to celebrate anything but for me I feel it's important for my sanity.  Just create something that works for you and brings some joy and happiness into your life. I'd love to see how you all are celebrating things while under quarantine. Leave all your details in the comments below! Let's not forget to head over to Catherines site to check out the rest of their Americana collection and take advantage of their sale this holiday weekend!

Thanks for reading!
May you all stay safe and healthy!
