This Friday marks the start of a new feature on the blog "Beauty Fridays". Twice a month I will be doing beauty posts, which can consist of make-up reviews, skin care routine, hair care regime etc. Since getting into make-up last year, I feel like my knowledge has definitely grown. I have developed a love for it and find myself watching YouTube videos to become more skilled at the art of it. Next to fashion, make-up is my next obsession. So today I am bringing you my current make-up routine. I keep my routine pretty simple and natural looking because I don't have a lot of time in the morning before work to really do a beat face. Plus I'm not about that "full on face" life unless I am taking blog photos or a photo shoot. Below is a list of the products I've been use on a regular basis and have been loving.
Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming - The first thing I do is prime my face. I don't know how I've been living without this primer in my life. I have oily skin, especially in the t-zone area as well as large pores. This primer kept me shine free all day and smoothed out my skin so my pores appeared smaller. After you apply it and starts to dry, you feel a tightness of the skin, and I love that. Definitely a must have if you are prone to oily skin and want a nice matte finish.
Make Up Forever Ultra Invisible Cover Foundation - I usually stick to BB creams or CC creams because my skin is pretty decent, no redness or discoloration. But I do like the effect that those creams give my face, a nice light coverage. The folks over at Make Up Forever were kind enough to send me their new foundation. I am really loving it, the coverage is great and doesn't give me "cake face", it blends well and is very natural looking. It is a little pricey but a little goes a long way.
Mac Mineralized Skin Finish Natural - I don't own much from Mac besides a lipstick or two but I saw Queen Jaclyn Hill use this in one of her videos. It has instantly become one of my favs because of how versatile it is. I love using it to set my foundation and as a bronzer to add some warmth to my face. If you want a more intense color you can spritz your brush with the Mac Fix +.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Gleam - My favorite part of make-up is highlighting. and what it does to the face. My ride or die for the longest time was Champagne Pop from Becca, I couldn't get enough of it. But with make-up you have to try other things and I decided to give the highly talked about Glow Kits from Anastasia Beverly Hills. This has instantly become my new go to highlighter, the colors are so beautiful. I love how pretty and natural they look on the skin. I love mixing the colors together to create my own special shade. Not to mention you are getting 4 colors for $40, which is a awesome deal in my book. The colors in the "Gleam" palette are as follows
- Hard Candy: A mood-changing golden peach with a pink pearl reflective finish.
- Starburst: A rush of cool pink with an iridescent finish.
- Crushed Pearl: A glimmering pink and silver with a crystalized chrome finish.
- Mimosa: A radiant golden peach with a metallic finish.
Mac Prep & Prime Fix + - I love a good setting spray, it's just so quick and easy to apply after you're make-up is done. I had seen quite a few youtubers use this spray for a multitude of things. Gotta love a product that does double or even triple duty. I like to use this before my make-up for an extra boost of hydration and after to set my face. Perfect for that fresh dewey look.
I hope you enjoyed this first installment of my Beauty Friday's. Please let me know if you enjoy these kind of posts and if there's anything you'd like me to feature. Stay tuned for my next Beauty Friday post where I talk about my skin care regime!
