Window Pane and Fringe

Hi Lovies!

By now I'm sure most of you have seen the new Target collaboration with Adam Lippes. It's great that Target is continuing to have great collabs with different designers. When I first checked out the look book with Adam Lippes a few months back, I was very impressed with what I saw. I fell in love with the plaid/window pane prints, which is a favorite of my mine. I was also happy that they were going to make it available online in plus sizes. I anxiously awaited for Sept 27th to roll around so I can jump on my laptop and order a few things. The one piece that I had to have was this shirt dress, I swooned over it the minute I saw model Denise Bidot wearing it in the look book. I adore shirt dresses, and this one just tugged at my heart strings. The brush stroked plaid design made this dress super sharp and sophisticated but also very sexy with the high side slits. I wanted the dress to speak for itself and basically just threw on some over the knee boots, a bag and headed out the door. This will make for a great laying piece for Fall and Winter, there are so many style possibilities!

Denim and Camo

Hi Lovies!

This fall I've decided that I want to be all about comfort when it comes to my outfits. Since it's not one of my favorite seasons, I at least want be comfortable, right? Dresses are definitely a great way to achieve this as well as simplifying your life. Even more so with a denim shirt dress, which is a wardrobe staple and looks good on everyone. Just like this Braided Belt Denim Tunic from Ashley Stewart. I really liked that it was longer in length than most denim dresses and came with a cute brown braided belt. Of course you could definitely swap that out for one of your own to change up the look.

Falling over Capes

Hi Lovies

Now that Fall is officially here I can start getting into my outerwear. There are so many cool styles popping up on the scene and my current favorite are capes. I really like the way they look and how they can take any outfit to the next level. Not to mention how wearing one always makes me feel like Sherlock Holmes, who I adore (don't judge me!). Recently while browsing the Fashion to Figure website I came across this adorable Madeline Dotted Zip Cape and instantly fell in love with it. It was simple but super chic at the same time. I loved the easy zip up closure and wide arm slits which made for easy mobility. It's perfect for the weather right now here in NYC but can definitely be worn in the colder months with a thick turtle neck.

Karina Dresses

Hi lovies!

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the folks of Karina Dresses to review one of their dresses. I am always down to check out a brand/company that carries both straight and plus sizes. While perusing the site, the first thing that caught my eye was that their dresses are American handmade and crafted with limited edition fabric in Brooklyn, NY. Gotta love a brand who makes their product right here in my home of NYC. As I continued to look through the site, I was totally impressed with what I saw, the dresses had a vintage look about them but still fashion forward. The prints were very eye catching and fun. I also loved that each dress had a name, which totally gave them a whimsical flare. All the dresses are made of this amazing material that feels great on the body, super forgiving and best of all wrinkle free! Yup, you heard me right, wrinkle free. Who doesn't like a dress that you can just throw on and literally walk out the door. That's an A+ in my book.

Fashion to Figure Denim: Weekend Look

Hey Lovies!

For my last and final look featuring Fashion to Figure Denim is my favorite, the weekend look. When it comes to the weekend, I don't want to have to over think about what I am going to wear. My outfit should definitely be easy breezy and no nonsense. My denim of choice for the weekend are definitely a pair of Boyfriend Jeans, they are super comfortable, casual and go with almost anything. The FTF boyfriend jeans are amazing, they aren't super baggy and are a great fit. I love the distressing on them and the faded wash which gives them a little edgy look. These can totally be dressed up as well with a cute pair of heels or booties. Every woman should have a pair of these in their wardrobe, they are for sure a staple.

Fashion to Figure Denim: Date Night Look

Hi Lovies!

I am bringing you another Fashion to Figure denim look featuring their fabulous Jeggings. Besides the skinny jean, jeggings are my next favorite. They are just an easy, no nonesense type of denim. You can literally throw them on and walk out the door. What I love about these FTF pair is how comfortable they are, the elastic waist band is wide and very soft. These are also fitted on the leg similar to the Skinny jeans but these are more of a high waisted fit which I love and come in a black and dark denim wash. I can totally see myself living in these jeans this Fall.

Fashion to Figure Denim: Workwear Look

Hi Lovies!

Back in August, Fashion to Figure invited a bunch of bloggers to their offices to check out their new denim line. The whole idea behind their new denim line is, when you find your size in any of their styles, that will be your size across the board. There will no longer be a need to bring 20 different pairs of jeans with you into the dressing room anymore. If you're an 18 in their skinny jean, then you're an 18 in their Boyfriend jeans. They currently have a jegging, skinny jean, boyfriend jean and a boot cut jean. At the end of the event we filled out a card letting them know which styles we wanted. Now you know I'm not a jean girl at all but it's important to have at least the basics in your wardrobe. I opted for the skinny, jegging and the boyfriend. I knew I wanted to do 3 different outfits with them to show their versatility. Today's look is my work wear look featuring their skinny jean in dark wash.

Forever Summer

Hi Lovies!!

I am no way, shape or form ready for Fall, if I could rewind this summer, I'd totally do it. I just love summer, so I'm going to be rocking as many outfits as I can until Fall arrives (don't judge me!) This outfit was one I wore for brunch with my babe one day. I just love the fresh and summery feel of it, just simple and clean. This floral linen jacket from Old Navy was just adorable and the soft pastel colors made me think of sherbert ice cream. Then I tied it in with my peachy tee from Lane Bryant and delicate lace skirt from Modamix just made for the perfect summer look.

La Pecosa Preciosa Turns 3: Harper + Liv Giveaway!

Hi Lovies!!

We have come to the final day of my week long blogiversary giveaways! This has truly been super fun. Today's giveaway is from a new plus size brand called Harper + Liv. I did a post about them back in July (see here) and expressed how much I liked this brand. Their collection was great, it was very festival, boo hoo chic which was very trendy for this Summer. Again, as you know I'm a total skirt/dress girl, so when I received this Printed Jumpsuit from them, I was a little reluctant. But since I'm always trying to push myself when it comes to fashion, I gave it the old college try lol! I immediately fell in love with the fun and funky print, the color combo was gorgeous. This jumpsuit is extremely comfortable and soft, along with the draped neckline which gives it a more elegant look. What I loved most about this jumpsuit is that I can transition this into my Fall wardrobe. I can totally see myself wearing this to work with a solid color structured blazer to tone down the print and give it a more refined look. Are you loving this jumpsuit yet? Well now here's your chance to get one! One lucky reader will win the amazing jumpsuit ($94 value)!
