Taking On Philly With Catherine's

Taking On Philly With Catherine's

Hi Lovies,

If you follow me on Instagram and watched my stories, then you know I was recently in Philadelphia with Catherine's. I haven't been to Philly probably since I was a child on a school trip so I was super grateful that Catherine's asked me to be apart of this one. Philadelphia has so much history and we were lucky enough to be led around the beautiful City of Brotherly Love by two Philadelphians, Blogger Kellie Brown and Kate O'Brien from the Catherine's team. They had so much fun stuff planned for the next 3 days, I couldn't wait to get started.  What was even more fun was I got to enjoy this trip with 2 of my fabulous blogger babes Jeniese of The Jenesaisquoi and Alex of Learning to be Fearless. Can we say girl's weekend!

Our first day started at the beautiful Kimpton Hotel Monoco in the heart of historic Philly where we were staying. This hotel is breath taking and a feast for the eyes, there was so many pretty things to look at. My room was even better with amazing decorative furniture and an actual soaker tub in the bathroom. We all met in the lobby where the Catherine's team informed us that they had a special surprise for us. That evening we would have the pleasure of attending The Roots Picnic concert with VIP tickets! This was like a dream come true, I've wanted to go to this concert for years! The line up for the concert was pretty epic, they had some of my faves like Kimbra, Pharrell, Pete Rock and the Queen herself Solange. With excitement in our hearts, we ran to our rooms to change into our festival outfits. We had to look amazing, how else was Solange suppose to notice us and become best friends?

Can you tell we were having fun?

This Savannah River Maxi dress was perfect to stand out in a crowd!

Gotta make sure my phone is ready to capture Solange's performance!

Sunday we were up bright and early for another day of fun in Philly. To get us going that morning we got in our active wear and hit the Philadelphia Museum of Art to take on the infamous "Rocky" steps. It was so crazy to actually be on the steps from the movie. You automatically start hearing the song "Eye of the Tiger" in your head but that could have been due to the guy that was playing it on his trumpet lmao! Unfortunately, the Rocky statue was getting a make over in preparation for spring and summer so we couldn't take a picture with him. But to pay him homage we decided to race to see who could get to the top first (without passing out of course lol!)

 It was a tie! Hooray!

I am totally hooked on active wear now, this whole outfit was super comfy, easy to wear and so stylish!

So after we conquered the Rocky stairs, we did a quick costume change and took in the sites. We headed behind the museum to check out the Fairmount Dam. It was so beautiful over there, pretty views of the water and the perfect spot to capture those great OOTD pictures.

After the Fairmount Dam, we hit South Street to enjoy the artistry Philly had to offer. I was amazed by the many murals and street art that flooded South Street. We came across streets where the walls were covered in mosaics, it was breath taking.

This was the perfect outfit to go exploring,  it was colorful, chic and comfy!

After working up an appetite from sightseeing, we headed back to the hotel, freshened up and changed for dinner. We dined at this amazing restaurant called Butcher & Singer which was no ordinary steakhouse. When you walked in it felt like I was transported to the 1920's Great Gatbsy times, it definitely plays an homage to old Hollywood. The food was just as amazing as the decor as we just enjoyed each other's company and conversation.

The Board Walk Maxi Dress was perfect for a night on the town.

On our last day in Philly, we really spent the day taking in the sites,  hitting up all the tourist and historical spots. Like I said earlier, we were in good hands with Philly borns Kelly and Kate. They took us everywhere, we hit Independence Hall to get an up close look at the Liberty Bell (which is actually not that big) and the Declaration of Independence. Then we were off to check out Phildephia's City Hall area which is so rich in architecture and history.

The Catherine's Team surprised us again by taking us to the One Liberty Observation Deck which is in the heart of Center City. We took an elevator to the 57th floor to reach the observation deck which provided us with the most amazing 360 degree aerial views of Philly. I wanted to stay there all day and just admire this beautiful city.

Our trip wouldn't be complete without us having an official Philly Cheese Steak from the iconic Pat's King of Steaks and then cleansing our palettes with a Philly Water Ice from John's. The Philly Cheese Steak was soo good, I never ate a sandwich so fast in my life. The water ice is similar to an Italian ice but don't let any one from Philly hear you say that! I chose the pineapple flavor which was super refreshing and delicious.

Gotta get a pic for Instagram!

Philly was amazing, I had the best time there and will definitely return soon. A huge thank you to Catherine's for inviting me on this trip and showing us the best time ever. Make sure to check out my fellow bloggers Jeniese and Alex to hear all about their experience. Also to check out everything we wore on this trip click HERE!
