La Pecosa Preciosa

Lady Like

Hi Lovies!!

Being known as a girly-girl is something I take pride in, I love my dresses and skirts all day, everyday. I'm not that girl who wears sweats or yoga pants on the weekend to run around in, nor do I own sneakers. Nothing gives me more pleasure that getting dressed up and I totally get that from my Mother. Up until the day she passed, she made sure she always looked presentable. My motto is "You never know who you're going to run into" so I like to be prepared lol. Pleated skirts are the ultimate lady like item, they remind me of being in elementary school and my mom would dress me up in them. Now as a grown woman, it's great that I can still wear one and it be appropriate. The pleated skirt has definitely evolved, you can find them in a bunch of different fabrics, styles and colors, my current favorite is the faux leather version. It seems like everyone is jumping on the faux leather pleated skirt bandwagon and that's wonderful, I'm all about having options. When I first saw this burgundy one from Charlotte Russe Plus, I nearly fell over. It was the perfect fall staple and the color was amazing, not to mention budget friendly. I ordered this beauty back in July and unfortunately it sold out pretty quick but I've given you some other options below.

Birthday Girl

Hi Lovies,

Being born on Halloween was always super fun for me when I was a kid, it was the best of both worlds. I looked forward to dressing up in a fun costumes and having a party with my family and friends. Now that I'm older I'm not as into getting dressed up but more about finding the perfect birthday outfit. This year I turned 42 and I wanted to wear something sexy but classy. The LBD is always the way to go, it's timeless, classic and sophisticated. Cape dresses have quickly become super popular, and it takes the LBD to the next level, just like this one from Fashion to Figure. I knew I wanted to wear this for my birthday, not only because how chic it looked but it made me feel like a super hero, which was totally appropriate for Halloween lol. It's made of a nice thick scuba material, which holds all my goodies in place and is super comfortable. This dress is definitely out of my comfort zone since I normally don't wear form fitting things but I slapped on my good spanx and hit the streets!

Leopard and Leather

Hey Lovies!!

As much as I wanted to protest Fall, I have totally embraced it and have picked up a bunch of great pieces for the season. You guys know how much I love anything leopard/cheetah print as well as my addiction to skirts. Well, when I saw this skirt from Rue 107, I jumped for joy, it was the best of both worlds. This was my first time trying out Rue 107 but I had heard such good things about them. They are known for their colorful, bold and edgy clothing that make a statement. The Tyra Cheetah Circle Skirt is a little slice of heaven, extremely well made with a nice heavy weight ponte material. It's super forgiving and stretchy which fits comfortably on the waist. The midi length makes for a more sophisticated look which is totally my style. Plus it's the perfect skirt to twirl in, can't get much better than that!

Plus Size Remix: Style of a London Tall Girl

Hi Lovies!!

Well I am finally back with another edition of "Plus Size Remix" and I'm totally sorry that I didn't get around to doing one sooner. If you missed my first 2 remix post, you can see them here and here. This months inspiration comes from Marsha of Style of a London Tall Girl. I adore this woman's style so much, she's just so elegant, sharp and sophisticated. Not to mention she lives in one my favorite places in the world, London. She had so many looks that I wanted to recreate but this look definitely spoke to me. From the gorgeous polka dot midi skirt, to the orange top and pop of blue in her shoes, this was definitely a Sandra outfit.

Adam Lippes for Target Plus Size Collab

Hi Lovies!

As you know, one of the best things about blogging is all the amazing women I have met and have become friends with. It's just great to be around women who share the same interests and support each other in what we do. Now as much as I wish they all lived in NYC so we can see each other more often, they don't. But I do spend a good amount of time with the ones that do, like my girls Darlene of Suit, Heels and Curves and Jamilyn of Style over Size. Our styles are very similar, so much so that we ended up ordering some of the same pieces from the Adam Lippes for Target collection. One of the pieces being this Plaid Belted Sweater Vest. We decided since we all had the vest, why not do a collab together to show our own unique styles.

Sweater Weather

Hi Lovies!!

Sweater weather is fully upon us now, especially this weekend with the temps dipping down to the 30's! (I wasn't ready!!) There's nothing better than a nice cozy sweater to keep you toasty, even more so a sweater dress. This one from Charlotte Russe+ was perfect for Saturday brunch with my babe. I was super comfortable in this dress but still felt sexy and stylish. The length was perfect to wear with my knee high boots and could easily be worn belted with a pair of leggings or jeans. It's definitely a versatile piece and for $33 bucks, I couldn't pass it up.

Pur Minerals Lip Lure Review

Hi Lovies,

Since doing my first beauty review back in August (see here), I've had quite a few companies reach out to me to test and review their products. One of the companies, which I wasn't too familiar with, was Pur Minerals, They sent me their new "Lip Lure" Hydrating Lip Lacquers and I couldn't have been more excited to try them out.
