Denim on Denim

Hi Lovies,

I have a morning commute routine which consist of checking my social media, going through my bloglovin to see what my favorite bloggers are posting about and lastly I read my emails. The ones I go to first are from the brands I frequently shop at, informing me about what discounts or sales they are currently having, and/or new arrivals. Emails from Eloquii are usually the ones I open first, they have the best sales and I just adore them. When this Mixed Denim Skater Skirt popped up on their site, I wasted no time clicking the "ADD TO CART" button. It was instant love at first sight, I mean c'mon, just look at it! It had such a 70's feel to it while still remaining modern. Plus the fit and flare, skater silhouette is me on so many levels. Also the possibilities of looks is so endless, denim goes with pretty much everything!

Winter Fresh

Hi Lovies,

Now that the remnants from Winter Storm Jonas is finally starting to disappear, I can put away the ugly winter gear and wear something a little more fashionable. It's still chilly out so one of my fav things to wear that is simple and easy but still keeps me warm is a cute sweater dress. This Texture Cowlneck one from Fullbeauty is perfect. It has a nice cozy turtleneck which kept me warm and there was no need for a scarf. I loved the textured honeycomb design and the dusty pink color was so feminine and pretty. The longer hemline looked great with some knee high boots and there was so need for tights...score!

Weekend Casual with The Avenue

Hi Lovies,

When I'm not working my 9 to 5 or taking photos for the blog, I enjoy being as comfortable as possible. I look forward to my weekends, where I can just chill with my Beau, binge watch episodes of Big Bang Theory and have a few glasses of wine. Obviously what I'm wearing has to be just as comfortable as I feel. You all know I am a skirt and dress kinda girl but living in NYC during the Winter months can be trying with the unruly temps. So I find myself reaching for my jeans or leggings a lot more. I needed to add some more casual weekend items to my wardrobe and found myself browsing The Avenue website. This brand has been around for over 30 years and has definitely come a long way with their fashion. They have a little of everything, from work wear, on trend pieces and casual separates. Not to mention they carry petite, tall and extended sizes to accommodate the needs of their customers. They are brand you should definitely take a look at.

Sexy Valentine's

Hi Lovies,

For my last Valentine's Day look, I'm bringing you my version of the sexy Valentine's. In my previous post here, I mentioned how I normally like to go more glam for this day but there are occasions where I do like to take the sexy up a notch. Of course always keeping with my personal style and not going too over the top. As you know Leopard is "Bae" and any chance I get I must incorporate it in my ensembles. When I got this amazing dress in my Gwynnie Bee shipment, I squealed. There are 3 things I loved about this dress, it's a skater silhouette, it's made of scuba material and it's leopard print. I mean c'mon, could this be anymore perfect?! The fit was great, super comfy, the length was just right, showing just enough leg and the skater design was beyond flattering. I was very impressed with this dress and might actually considered keeping this one.

Pantone Spring 2016 Blogger Collaboration

Hi Lovies!!

Working for a fashion company for the last 4 years, I've learned a lot about the industry. Pantone is a big part of creating new lines, styles and color stories. Recently Pantone released their Spring 2016 Top 10 colors and according to Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute "The colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves."  That's exactly how I felt when I saw these amazing colors. With that came the awesome idea for a group of us bloggers to do a collab. So today I bring you the Pantone Spring 2016 Blogger Collaboration. Similar to the one I was in last year (see here), we each chose a color from the collection and created a look. I love these types of collabs because it shows how different our individual styles are while still having some uniformity between us all.

Valentine's Day Glam

Hi Lovies!!

For most women, Valentine's Day is a day to get super ultra sexy for your special someone. And while I see nothing wrong with that, I tend to gravitate towards more elegance and sophistication for that day. I guess I'm just old fashioned in that sense, and took a page out my mom's handbook about always representing yourself as a lady. It still can be very sexy, while totally representing me and my personal style. This Rita Turtleneck Dress by Corey from Gwynnie Bee is a perfect example of that. I love the draped turtleneck and rope tie belt that helps to accentuate the waist. The charcoal grey color is classic and can go with pretty much anything. What gives this dress it's sexiness is the two front slits that show off just enough leg, but still leaves something to the imagination. I added a pop of color with my red clutch and I'm ready to have a night out to be romanticized.

That 70's Show

Hi Lovies!!

The 70's trend has hit the fashion scene by storm and is popping up every where. We are seeing wide leg pants, bell sleeves, fringe and lots of suede. When I think of the 70's, I always refer to a picture I took when I was about 4 yrs. old with Santa Claus. I was dressed in a denim patchwork suit and my facial expression in the picture pretty much explained how I felt about being with Santa and wearing that suit, lol! Now that I'm older I can appreciate that trend more and make it my own. This denim dress from Eloquii was a must have the minute I saw it. I'm a total sucker for a denim dress and this one had such a 70's vibe to it. I love the exposed front zipper and tie belt, along with the over-sized pockets made this such a fun dress.

Valentine's Day with Gwynnie Bee

Hi Lovies,

It's hard to believe that we are almost done with January, seems like I was just screaming "Happy New Year"and drinking champagne. Now with February approaching, starts the season of love aka Valentine's Day. For some this can be a dreadful day and for others an all out event. I myself normally don't go crazy, my Beau usually works on that day and we end up celebrating on the weekend with a low key dinner date. But that doesn't mean I don't like to dress up. If you read my recent post on Gwynnie Bee here, then you know how much I love their service. They provide me with tons of options for all different occassions. This Quilted Wrap Jacket from Kiyonna totally caught my eye and definitely was perfect for V'day. I loved it so much, I decided to style it in a day to night look.

Marla Wynne Collection

Hi Lovies!!

Last June I had the pleasure of attending a blogger event during Full Figured Fashion Week that was hosted by Marla Wynne. She's an amazing designer and we were able to check out her collection at this event. We actually got to speak with Marla and get more in depth about the pieces, fit, quality, etc. I remember how passionate she was when she spoke about her clothing. It was very refreshing and definitely left me with interest in her brand. Fast Forward to 2016, Marla's team reached out to me and asked if I'd like to come by her apartment to have a meeting with her, check out her latest collection, talk about future projects and get better acquainted. Needless to say I was more than happy to say yes and couldn't wait. The meeting was wonderful, Marla is such a charismatic, funny and awesome person. She couldn't wait for me to try on some of her pieces and give my feedback on them. At the end of the meeting, we had decided that we definitely wanted to work together, and I left with a bag full of amazing pieces to share with you all today!

Plus Size Remix: Suburban Faux-Pas

Hi Lovies!

Happy New Year! Sorry I have been MIA for the first part of the new year, but I am back and I'm bringing you another edition of "Plus Size Remix"! If you missed the ones from last year you can see them here, here and here. This month's inspiration comes from Krystin Lee of Suburban Faux-Pas. I can not express how much I adore this woman's style, she's just so elegant, classy and chic all in one. I find myself just browsing through her Instagram pics because they are just so pretty. My pinterest style inpiration board is full of her fab looks and it was so hard to decided on one. The one I chose definitely reminded me of something I would wear. I just loved the hunter green pleated skirt with the simple beige tee along with the mustard sweater and nude heels. It was simple but so sophisicated looking at the same time.
