That 70's Show

Hi Lovies!!

The 70's trend has hit the fashion scene by storm and is popping up every where. We are seeing wide leg pants, bell sleeves, fringe and lots of suede. When I think of the 70's, I always refer to a picture I took when I was about 4 yrs. old with Santa Claus. I was dressed in a denim patchwork suit and my facial expression in the picture pretty much explained how I felt about being with Santa and wearing that suit, lol! Now that I'm older I can appreciate that trend more and make it my own. This denim dress from Eloquii was a must have the minute I saw it. I'm a total sucker for a denim dress and this one had such a 70's vibe to it. I love the exposed front zipper and tie belt, along with the over-sized pockets made this such a fun dress.

Valentine's Day with Gwynnie Bee

Hi Lovies,

It's hard to believe that we are almost done with January, seems like I was just screaming "Happy New Year"and drinking champagne. Now with February approaching, starts the season of love aka Valentine's Day. For some this can be a dreadful day and for others an all out event. I myself normally don't go crazy, my Beau usually works on that day and we end up celebrating on the weekend with a low key dinner date. But that doesn't mean I don't like to dress up. If you read my recent post on Gwynnie Bee here, then you know how much I love their service. They provide me with tons of options for all different occassions. This Quilted Wrap Jacket from Kiyonna totally caught my eye and definitely was perfect for V'day. I loved it so much, I decided to style it in a day to night look.

Marla Wynne Collection

Hi Lovies!!

Last June I had the pleasure of attending a blogger event during Full Figured Fashion Week that was hosted by Marla Wynne. She's an amazing designer and we were able to check out her collection at this event. We actually got to speak with Marla and get more in depth about the pieces, fit, quality, etc. I remember how passionate she was when she spoke about her clothing. It was very refreshing and definitely left me with interest in her brand. Fast Forward to 2016, Marla's team reached out to me and asked if I'd like to come by her apartment to have a meeting with her, check out her latest collection, talk about future projects and get better acquainted. Needless to say I was more than happy to say yes and couldn't wait. The meeting was wonderful, Marla is such a charismatic, funny and awesome person. She couldn't wait for me to try on some of her pieces and give my feedback on them. At the end of the meeting, we had decided that we definitely wanted to work together, and I left with a bag full of amazing pieces to share with you all today!

Plus Size Remix: Suburban Faux-Pas

Hi Lovies!

Happy New Year! Sorry I have been MIA for the first part of the new year, but I am back and I'm bringing you another edition of "Plus Size Remix"! If you missed the ones from last year you can see them here, here and here. This month's inspiration comes from Krystin Lee of Suburban Faux-Pas. I can not express how much I adore this woman's style, she's just so elegant, classy and chic all in one. I find myself just browsing through her Instagram pics because they are just so pretty. My pinterest style inpiration board is full of her fab looks and it was so hard to decided on one. The one I chose definitely reminded me of something I would wear. I just loved the hunter green pleated skirt with the simple beige tee along with the mustard sweater and nude heels. It was simple but so sophisicated looking at the same time.

Double Trouble

Hi Lovies!!

Now that Christmas is over, we can now focus on what fabulous outfit we're going to wear to welcome in the new year. Whether you're staying home with family, spending it with friends or going to a fabulous party for New Years Eve, finding this outfit can be a daunting task for some. Well now there's a company that can help you with that. Dia & Co. is an online personal styling service for the plus size woman (14-32). You first take an online survey that has a series of questions about your style, personal preference, sizing, price ranges and what you're looking to add to your wardrobe. After you're done filling out the survey, a personal stylist will give you a call to get more in depth about your style. Once your stylist has all the info she needs, you will receive an email letting you know that your personally styled box is on it's way to you. Your box should contain at least 5 items of clothing. When you've had a chance to go through your box, if there's anything that doesn't work, Dia & Co provides a mailing envelope for you to send the items back for free. There is a $20 styling fee, if you decide to buy anything from your box, the fee will be credited towards your purchase. How cool is that?!

Christmas with Harper + Liv

Hi Lovies,

We are now t-minus 2 days to Christmas and I'm still not finished shopping. I always say I'm going to start early and it never happens, but I digress. The one thing I did get done was choosing my outfits for the holidays. For Christmas I definitely wanted to wear something that was different and not the traditional holiday look. Something fun and colorful was my goal and this Harper + Liv Printed Illusion Dress totally fit the bill. The beautiful geometric print makes such a bold statement with its pinks and green color combo. The Sweetheart design with sultry mesh panels and inverted pleats give this dress some sexiness. This may be too short for some folks, I'm 5'6 and it's hitting me above my knee. So keep that in mind before buying.

Winter Florals

Hi Lovies,

I'm always looking for ways to get the most out of my wardrobe. During the winter, I love to take my sleeveless dresses and give them a new look by wearing a top underneath. This Floral Dress from Modamix was perfect with the beautiful winter colors, and super comfortable material. I loved the fit and design which is very flattering, along with the exposed front zipper made this dress a little sexy. This can easily go great with a turtlenecks, button up shirts or a Bow Blouse like this one from Charlotte Russe. It just takes a simple dress and transforms the look completely and the colors complemented each other so well. Since old man winter decided to show his face this pass weekend, I had to pull out a warmer coat. My Halloway Belted Coat from Fashion to Figure was just what I need to finish off this look. I was ready to hit the streets and enjoy Saturday brunch with my Beau.

Style Challenge with Gwynnie Bee: Blouse with Bow

Hi Lovies!

I love a challenge, especially a style challenge. It pushes me to get my creative juices flowing and kinda think out the box. So when Gwynnie Bee contacted me about participating in their monthly feature on their blog "One style, three ways" along with 2 other bloggers, I was more than happy to do it. If you've not familiar with them, they are basically Netflix but for plus size clothing. Subscribers choose from different plans (and prices) depending on how many items they want to have out at a time.  Subscribers browse the collection, select items that they like, select their size (based on size charts for each brand) and put them in their closet. Once a minimum number of items are "closeted," new members are sent a box with their first items, depending on the plan they chose. You can keep the items for as long as you want without commitment or if you really like something, you have the option to buy it at a discounted price. Shipping is super quick and I love getting treats in the mail. When you're done with the items, just pop it into the prepaid envelope they provide you with and drop it into your nearest mailbox, it's as simple as that! Modamix Resort Collection

Hi Lovies,

Last month me and my blogger boo Darlene of Suits, Heels and Curves had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with one of our fav brands Modamix. By now you know that the Modamix team is practically family to me and I just adore them. I believe in their passion to make amazing plus size clothing and the dedication they put in. If you're not familiar with this brand, check out a few posts I've done here and here. The shoot we did was for their new Resort Collection and it's just awesome! It has a little bit of everything, bold prints, different textures and materials. I love that this collection has an edgy athleisure design to it but still remains very feminine. Modamix never disappoints when it comes to style and quality of their clothing. It was definitely fun to be able to dress up in these fantastic pieces and pretend to be a model for the day! Some of the collection is currently available online at Lord & Taylor, the rest will be available next month, so make sure to keep your eyes out for it! Here a few pictures from the shoot.

The "Not So" Ugly Christmas Sweater

Hi Lovies!

With the holidays comes tons of parties and the most popular one is the "Ugly Sweater" party. While most people love this one, I on the other hand is not in the business of buying anything ugly. Don't get me wrong, I do like the idea of it, so in the spirit of the holidays I decided to attend one. Finding a sweater was not difficult, as there are tons of plus size Christmas sweaters options. I didn't want to spend a lot on one because I wouldn't be wearing it often, so I decided to head over to my Forever 21. I was pleasantly pleased with the selection and found this perfect "Not So" ugly sweater. I fell in love with the reindeer graphic made from gold and red sequins, it was so festive and adorable. Paring it with my Ashley Stewart Hi-Low Neoprene Skirt was such a great combo. The red color complimented the sweater well and the hi-lo design gave it a more high end look. I also love how much volume the skirt had, and with my gold heels I felt super glam. We can definitely say I didn't win the Ugly Sweater contest this year! *Kanye Shrug*
