Kisses

Hi Lovies,

It's very rare that you come across a brand that caters to both straight and plus sizes as well as making their selection available to all sizes. Eshakti is one of those brands and I love them for it. I've been shopping with them for a few years now but it wasn't until recently that I was approached by the brand to do a post, share my thoughts and opinions on one of their pieces. If you're new to Eshakti, it's a company that offers clothing from sizes 0-36, they even offer customization; you can change different elements about the clothing like the length, neckline, sleeves etc or you can provide your exact measurements for a truly custom fit. Their philosophy is "It is not enough that clothes look good on the mannequin. They need to look good on you." And I totally agree. This is what sets Eshakti apart from other brands and makes them unique. There's no guess work, or worry that something you purchased online isn't going to fit you properly. The clothing was literally made for you!

Floral Romance

Hi Lovies!

Now that it is officially spring, even though it doesn't feel like it here in NYC, I can start wrapping my head around clothes for that season. Floral prints are always a staple for me pretty much a year round but more so for the spring and summer. They just go with the season, with all the pretty flowers blooming around. Now I'll take floral print in any shape or form, whether it be a dress, jacket and in this case a midi skirt. This skirt from Fashion to Figure was so feminine with the beautiful rose print and pastel colors. It's such a charming and elegant piece, totally made me feel like I should be at a garden party somewhere.

The Perfect Moto

Hi Lovies,

The love I have for moto jackets runs deep, like really deep! If you been following the blog, you know I have moto jackets galore, it's become a joke among my friends. Different colors, fabrics, styles, you name it, I've got it. But honestly to me, motos are like your undies, you can never have too many. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw this one from Modamix. With a heartbeat skipping moment, it was love at first sight, it has stripes people, STRIPES! This jacket was definitely something I didn't have in my collection and instantly became (cue Golem's voice) "my precious!". I'm literally looking for any excuse to wear this, either to work, on the weekends, with my PJ's, it's an obsession. The Jaime Jacket is made extremely well and actually looks and feel like real leather. The white and black stripes makes this a classic, never going out of style and can be wore for several seasons. Everyone needs this jacket in their wardrobe, and it's only $31 right now!

Neon Lights

Hi Lovies!

I love incorporating bold prints and colors in my looks especially for the warmer months. It just livens up the simplest of outfits and all around just makes me happy. You guys know how much I love stripes in any shape or form. To me it makes a statement, that I am not afraid to rock stripes even if I am plus size. Shirt dresses are definitely a staple in my closet and I have quite a few. This one from Eloquii was an instant favorite of mine. It was striped and made of neoprene, what more could I ask for? Not to mention how classic and versatile it is, so many possibilities with this dress.

Plus Size Remix: Style by Friedy

Happy Monday Lovies,

It's "Plus Size Remix" time again and this month I am bringing you inspiration from the lovely Freidy from Style by Friedy. I came upon her picture last year on Pinterest and I was immediately drawn to this look. It had all my favorites colors, cobalt, chartreuse and leopard. Umm yea leopard is a color! Friedy has awesome style, and she is a total skirt girl like me, which I love. Her looks are always so put together, sharp and super feminine, not to mention chic and stylish, which is what my style represents. I look forward to checking out her newest posts to see what amazing ensemble she has puts together. If you aren't following Freidy, you need to do so now, you won't regret it. Beauty Fridays: Current Make-Up Routine

Hi Lovies,

This Friday marks the start of a new feature on the blog "Beauty Fridays". Twice a month I will be doing beauty posts, which can consist of make-up reviews, skin care routine, hair care regime etc. Since getting into make-up last year, I feel like my knowledge has definitely grown. I have developed a love for it and find myself watching YouTube videos to become more skilled at the art of it. Next to fashion, make-up is my next obsession. So today I am bringing you my current make-up routine. I keep my routine pretty simple and natural looking because I don't have a lot of time in the morning before work to really do a beat face. Plus I'm not about that "full on face" life unless I am taking blog photos or a photo shoot. Below is a list of the products I've been use on a regular basis and have been loving.

The Blogger Skirt

Hi Lovies,

Last year I had the pleasure of attending the Lane Bryant Spring Preview. As usual they had an abundance of great pieces for the season. With these previews, you always have certain favorites that you stalk the site for waiting to pop up. Well this skirt was definitely a crowd favorite and with good reason. It had everything that I loved, it was pleated, had pockets, midi length and the print was amazing. As soon as this skirt hit the website, I scooped it up. Now at the time that I purchased it the weather was still too cold to wear so I stashed it away. Like I said before this printed midi skirt was very popular and soon I started to see my other blogger boos rocking it on their blogs. Like Georgette, Jeniese, and Farrah, who all looked fab in their looks. After seeing so many awesome bloggers styling this skirt, it was a no brainer to deem this The Blogger Skirt.

Ladies Who Brunch

Hi Lovies,

Sundays are usually reserved for all things blogging, like taking outfit photos, getting post together for the week and organizing my editorial calendar. This Sunday my boo Georgette from Grown and Curvy Woman was in town so we made a date to meet for brunch with our other blogger babe Jamie from Style over Size. I always have the best time when I get together with my girls. We just enjoy each others company, have great convo and lots of laugh. In true blogger form, we took this opportunity to get dolled up since blog photos were definitely on the agenda. On my last visit to Fashion to Figure, Jamie spotted this amazing Selene Circle Cape Blazer and I literally snatched it out of her hand. You guys know I love me a cape in any shape or form. This beauty was made of scuba material which was great and I loved the playful circle print. It was different from all my others capes and I really liked that it was black and white. This cape blazer is definitely a showstopper.

Work Sassy

Hi Lovies,

When it comes to my work attire, I don't have to put too much thought into it. The dress code at work is pretty lax being its a fashion company. But during market week when our accounts come in to see the new lines, I do like to step my game up. Now I'm not going to be wearing a power suit or anything like that but I'll definitely put together a look that it work appropriate, while still showing my personal style. I decided I wanted to go with a bold look and of course I had to reach for something leopard. This Etta Animal Print Blazer from Fashion to Figure was such a take charge piece. I loved the ruffled front that gave off a peplum feel. This blazer can go from the executive office to dinner and drinks after work. You will for sure be making at statement at the office with this blazer.

Spring in my Step

Hi Lovies

Spring is definitely in the air, especially with the temps in the 70's today. The sun is coming out earlier now and the birds welcome you each morning with their chirping. This gets me daydreaming about beautiful pastels, floral prints and easy breezy fabrics. In true shopaholic form, I've been stalking my fav sites to see what amazing things they are bringing for the new season. When I came across this matching Floral Crop and Skirt set from Forever 21, it immediately screamed Spring time. The pale yellow along with the green and white accents from the floral print made this such an Asian inspired design. I loved the satiny feel of the fabric and the A-line skirt was the perfect length. The crop top has a pretty gold exposed zipper in the back as well for some added detail. This outfit was so ladylike and feminine, I felt like I should be at a tea party or something lol.

Style Tip: This set does run small, especially the top so size up if you can. I am wearing a 3X in both pieces.

Sex Appeal

Hi Lovies!

For most date nights with my Beau, I like to put a little more effort into what I am going to wear. We love to go out for brunch or dinner on the weekends so my outfit varies depending where we go. But there are times where I want to take my look up a notch and go extra sexy. When you've been with someone for 6 years, you have to try to keep the relationship new and exciting. Like surprising him with a super sexy ensemble to peak his interest and remind him what a hot mama he has lol. Now you know I always like to stay within my own personal style, classy and elegant, but jazz it up to add the extra sexiness I'm looking for. This Serena Sheath Dress was definitely right up my alley, with it's bold cutout cage detailing on the shoulders and hemline, showing off some skin. For me, sheath dresses can tend to make me look boxy since I'm not super curvy, so I like to belt them to give me more of a shape. The v-neck design showed just enough cleavage to entice my beau but still leaving something to the imagination and the lovely blue color went great with my skin tone.

The White Shirt

Hi Lovies,

One thing that every woman should have in her wardrobe is a white button up shirt. There's just something that is so clean and crisp about it, definitely adding a bit of sharpness to an outfit. The simple white shirt has definitely evolved over the years and now comes in many styles. When I saw this Hi/Lo Tunic style one from The Avenue, I knew I had to have it. It was so different and I love me a tunic. I still get the crisp white tailored look of a white shirt but with a longer length. Plus the shirt has pockets, which was mine blowing to me. Pure genius on the part of The Avenue for adding pockets. Bravo!!

Seeing Spots

Hi Lovies,

Now that we are only 20 days away from Spring, I can start daydreaming of a new wardrobe. One thing I love to wear during this season are bold prints and color. Stripes has always been a love of mine but polka dots are a close second. For some, this type of print can be intimidating but I embrace it with open arms. I find polka dot print to be so girly and whimsical, definitely bringing me back to my childhood. Since I already own tops and skirts in polka dot print, I decided to go on a hunt for a dress. Ashley Stewart answered my prayers with this fab Polka Dot A-Line Skirt Dress. I love me a shirt dress, especially in an A-line design and this one was definitely a beauty. The cuff sleeves, belted waist and over sized polka dots made this such a mod look. The fit was amazing and super comfy with the elastic waist band, all that was missing were pockets. I totally felt like a 60's house wife in this dress.
