Hi Lovies!

Being a plus size woman I never really experienced the looks some women get when they wear clothing that "society" thinks is inappropriate for us. I normally stay within my comfort zone, not because society wants me to but because it's just my style of dressing and what makes me feel comfortable. But lately I have been pushing myself to step out of my box and try new things. Saturday I decided to finally wear my ASOS Wet Look Skater Skirt. Now I wear skirts but this one was a bit shorter than what I normally wear. Nevertheless, I thought it was super cute and fun so I said screw it, I'm going to wear it!

Me and my Beau were out and about all of Saturday, we did our usual breakfast/brunch thing. We also decided to hit Bay Plaza for a little shopping. I have to say I was very glad that I was with my boyfriend while I was rocking this outfit. I got so many lookers and oglers, both men and women. My BF is such a good sport and is so supportive of me and my blog, he loved the outfit! What was so disappointing to me was all the side eyes and dirty looks I got from women!  Like I was too big to be wearing something like that. I have to say, all those looks were giving me more confidence than I already had and continued to strut my stuff all over the Bronx that day. No one was going to bring me down cause I knew I looked good!

I'm sure there are other women who have expeinced this kind of thing. I would love to hear how you handle it! Stay body confident ladies!!
Until next time Lovies!

  1. Love it! And you DO look good! I tend to get the side eyes from people I know more than I don't know, but I get many more positive things said to me than negative, which helps me deal. Sometimes I'll stare back at people so they know and have to deal with the fact that I saw them give a look/say something. If they say something rude, I'll ask, "What do you mean by that?" which forces them to realize they are being rude (if they are capable of it). Glad you had a great day with your bf!

    1. Thank you sweetie! Yea I have a pretty tough skin, so it'll take a lot for me to get upset. But it's great to know that there's plenty of positive women who support and inspire us plus size women to step out of our comfort zone and wear things we wouldn't normally wear. FYI, I LOVE your blog, it's awesome, just like you :o)

    1. Aww thank you sweetie! Coming from you that's a huge compliment cause you also have a set of stems missy! ;o) But yea, it's unfortunate that we have people out there that hate instead of motivate. Didn't matter cause like I said, I took it in stride and kept strutting myself around town with my head held high! :o)

    1. I would try ebay and see if anyone is selling it there. You can also google denim varsity jacket and see what pops up. Hope that helps :)
